Win the Golden Tile - the next Dragon Tournament announced!

Overview:  The Dragon Tournament is a three - month long competition with a
12 player final. Mahjong rules for the final table are appointed by the player that wins the most dragon chips during the three -  month period.

Tournament Duration: The Tournament will span over 3 months, from  November 1st 2010 - January 31st 2011

Prizes:
First Place:
     The winner can  exchange the dragon chips won during the course of the tournament for a uniquely designed solid silver, gold plated tile of a green dragon

     Medal on player’s avatar

Second Place:

     The winner can exchange the dragon chips won during the course of the tournament for a Mahjong set.

     The first runner up also receives  the Dragon Tournament T-Shirt
     One Year VIP membership

Third Place:

     The winner can exchange the dragon chips won during the course of the tournament for a travel size Mahjong set

     One Year Premium membership

     The second runner up also receives the  Dragon Tournament T-Shirt

Fourth Place:

     The winner can exchange the dragon chips won for golden coins with a rate of 10 dragon chips for one golden coin

     Receives the Dragon Tournament T-Shirt

5th - 12th Place: Can exchange the dragon chips for golden coins with a rate of 10 dragon chips for one golden coin



Dragon
Tournament Final
The 12 players who accumulate the most Dragon Chips during the course of the tournament will play at the final tournament, which will have 2 elimination rounds and a 4 player final. Final Dragon Tournament placment will be dependant on the outcome of the final event.

Date and Time: The final table will be played on Saturday, Feb 5th 2011 at 7:00 AM
US/Pacific time

Play Time: 60 min per each round; In the event that one or more player does’t
connect  for the final event the missing player forfeits the prize and he/she will be replaced by a player in the lobby

Rules: The rules are appointed by the player that wins the most Dragon Chips

You may cancel your entry into the tournament and receive a refund of your entry fee as long as you cancel at least 6 minutes prior to the beginning of seating for the tournament, which is usually 15 minutes before the start of the tournament.



Rounds

Number of rounds depends on the number of players that sign up for the tournaments in the schedule above.



4 Players - One 40 min round.

8 Players - One elimination round and 4 players that accumulate the most points(score) proceed to the 4 player final.

12 or more players - One preliminary round, then and an 8 player elimination round and a 4 player final round.

32 or more players - One reliminary round, then a 12 player elimination round, then an 8 player elimination round and a 4 player final round.



Each round consists of 40 min. of play.

Winnings

The 3 best scorers at the final round win the dragon chips that are at stake.

1st place - 50%

2nd place - 35%

3rd place - 15%

Please note that winnings are raked:

VIP members - 0% Rake

Premium - 5% Rake

Free Players - 15% Rake



Scoring

At the end of each round, players that have the best scores at their tables move to the next round.



If two (or more) players tie for a position, the player that won more hands in the game will be ranked higher. In the unlikely event that two players are tied in both scores AND hands won, the player that has a higher belt will be ranked higher.



In the event that two or more players are tied at the end of the Dragon Tournament by the Dragon Chips won, the player that has won more Dragon Tournaments will be ranked higher, in the unlikely event that two or more players are tied in both dragon chips won and number of tournaments won, the player that has a higher rating(the sum of all ratings in all styles) will be ranked higher.



Qualifying Dragon Chips

1. The Dragon Chips won at Dragon Tournaments (White Dragon; Green Dragon; Red Dragon and All Dragons) during the tournament’s duration (from November 1st till January 31 2011) qualify for the tournament prizes

2. The Dragon Chip winnings at Guild competitions from November 1st till January 31st 2011 also qualify for the tournament prizes

3. The Dragon Chip winnings at Global Mahjong Tournaments (GMTs) from November 1st 2010 until Janauary 31 2011 qualify for the tournament prizes



REPORTING PROBLEMS

Tournament administrators shall be contactable via support@mahjongtime.com.
All complaints will be filed and saved. Tournament administrators reserve the final right to every decision including, without limitation, the decision to disqualify any participant due to
complaints. Participants must strictly adhere to all game play guidelines or risk the possibility of disqualification. Participants are required to file all questions, comments, disputes, no-show claims, schedule conflicts, or other Tournament related issues through the Website with the appropriate subject. Be sure to explain your situation thoroughly and include any details necessary to assist the Tournament administrator in making a decision. Administrators, in their sole discretion, reserve the right to change the score of a Tournament match. This decision could be made based on administrator's judgment that the game reported the result incorrectly or the participants tampered with the game software or hardware to manipulate the reported score.



Mahjong Time reserves the right to alter the rules and make final decisions
